Tatmara Coffee Farm | Coffee farm in Kafa, Ethiopia
Tatmara Coffee Farm is located in southwestern Ethiopia, in the Kafa region, in Gimbo Woreda, Dakiti Kebele. The area offers exceptional conditions for growing Arabica coffee – a mountainous landscape, native vegetation and a distinctive forest ecosystem create an environment where coffee has been part of the local landscape for generations.
The farm currently covers 120 hectares, of which 97 hectares are planted with coffee trees. The rest consists of natural land and areas used for the farm’s operations.
On the farm, coffee grows under natural shade, surrounded by native vegetation and trees. This way of farming helps preserve biodiversity and the distinctive environment of the Kafa region.
The farm is where our coffee’s journey begins – from the selection of ripe cherries, through processing and drying, to the preparation of green beans for buyers in Europe.
Kafa – a place of exceptional importance for coffee
Kafa is one of the areas of Ethiopia most closely associated with the natural occurrence of Coffea arabica and the diversity of its plant material. It is the local conditions – altitude, climate, soil, forest and traditional farming methods – that shape the character of coffees from this region.
Tatmara Coffee Farm combines this natural diversity with a well-organised coffee preparation process, allowing us to offer roasters lots with a defined origin, processing method and profile.
