Meet Tatmara Poland – a company connecting European roasters directly with producers of Ethiopian coffee from the Kafa region.
From an Ethiopian farm to European roasteries
Tatmara Poland connects a direct source of Ethiopian coffee with professional distribution in Poland and across Europe.
We are not a broker operating solely on the commodity market. Our business is built on direct cooperation with Tatmara Coffee Farm PLC in Ethiopia, which means we know the origin of the coffee we offer and can take part in its journey – from cultivation and processing all the way to delivery to the roastery.
Our goal is simple: to supply roasters with high-quality Ethiopian coffee of known origin, reliably and on fair trading terms.
Tatmara Coffee Farm – our source
At the heart of our business is Tatmara Coffee Farm PLC, a private coffee farm established in 2008 in southwestern Ethiopia, in the Kafa region.
The farm is located in Gimbo Woreda, Dakiti Kebele, surrounded by the natural forests of Kafa – an area of particular importance to the history and heritage of Ethiopian coffee.
The farm started out on 82.06 ha and now covers approximately 120 ha, of which more than 77 ha are dedicated to coffee cultivation.
This is where the journey begins for the coffee we offer to roasters in Poland and across Europe.
Coffee from Kafa – where the story of Arabica begins
The Kafa region is widely associated with the natural habitat of Coffea arabica and the traditional cultivation of forest coffee.
Tatmara Coffee Farm benefits from the conditions typical of the region – high altitude, fertile soils, natural shade and rich biodiversity.
Our coffee trees grow in an agroforestry environment, where shade trees and native vegetation are an integral part of the farm.
This environment, combined with careful variety selection, harvesting and processing, allows us to produce coffees with a distinctive and complex profile.
The people behind Tatmara
Behind Tatmara Coffee Farm is Negussie Tadesse Wudu, the farm’s founder and general manager, and co-owner of Tatmara Poland.
He comes from the Kaffa region. After years of working elsewhere, he returned to his home region to develop the farm and its coffee business.
Today, he is personally involved in managing the farm, production and infrastructure development.
Tatmara Poland was created as a natural link between two sides of the same chain – the producer in Ethiopia and the trading partner in Europe.
This allows us to better understand both the needs of producers and the requirements of European roasters.
Grown in harmony with nature
On our farm, we use a cultivation model based on agroforestry and natural shade.
Our coffee trees grow among native vegetation and trees, which create a natural microclimate and support biodiversity.
Our farming practices include:
• natural shade for the coffee trees,
• mowing and mulching as part of vegetation management,
• preserving natural biodiversity,
• selective cultivation of coffee varieties,
• traditional and modern coffee processing methods.
The varieties we grow include 74110, 74112, 74140 and Wush Wush, as well as traditional forest coffees.
More than our own farm
Tatmara is not only about coffee from our own farm.
We also work with local producers from the Kaffa region, which allows us to offer roasters a wider selection of coffees from one of Ethiopia’s most important coffee-growing regions.
Working with local farmers allows us to expand our offer while building long-term relationships with producers.
Our goal is to develop the local value chain – so that an increasing share of the value of Ethiopian coffee stays in its region of origin.
From farm to roastery
One of the most important aspects of our business is the traceability of our coffee’s origin.
Working directly with the source allows us to better control the product’s journey:
farm / farmer → processing → export preparation → transport → warehouse → roastery
For our partners, this means access to information about the origin of each specific lot and how it was processed.
We supply coffee to smaller craft roasteries as well as larger buyers looking for regular deliveries of Ethiopian green coffee.
Our offer
We specialise in supplying green coffee from Ethiopia, including Specialty and Premium coffees.
Depending on availability, we offer coffees processed using the following methods:
• Natural

Our offer also includes by-products of coffee production, such as cascara.
We are also developing a range of natural products from the Kafa region.
Tatmara Poland – our partner in Europe
Tatmara Poland is responsible for sales development and customer service in Poland and across European markets.
We combine experience and a direct source on the Ethiopian side with European logistics, commercial support and an understanding of roasters’ needs.
We don’t want to be just another link between the producer and the buyer.
We want to be a direct partner for roasters – one that knows the origin of its coffee and the people who produce it.
